The RED DSMC2 Gemini is the night vision device among the cine cameras. Thanks to its “Dual ISO” function, it offers two different native light intensities: 800 ASA for everyday work and 3,200 ASA for all situations in which it is a bit darker. The Gemini thus delivers low-noise images even in dim lighting – and as usual in RED’s proven 16-bit RAW format in resolutions up to 5K, whereby 2K and 4K proxies can be recorded in DNxHR or ProRes in parallel. With 16 f-stops of dynamic range, excellent color reproduction and various high-speed options of up to 96 frames per second at full resolution and up to 300 frames per second in 2K, everything else you could want from a contemporary cine camera is of course on board.
